Liverpool Hold All The Aces In The Title Race

Raul Meireles scores the winner for Liverpool at ChelseaIt would take an almost impossibly optimistic Liverpool supporter to believe that the Reds have any chance of grabbing what would be their 19th league title this season. However, without being a competitor, Liverpool still have a massive role to play in the title race. In coming weeks, Liverpool have home games against Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham, as well as an away trip to the Emirates Stadium. Liverpool fans will pray that results in these games play out in such a way that they avoid handing the Premiership title to Manchester United, however, there is a distinct possibility that the outcome of this series of matches could leave Liverpool supporters feeling very sour.

One race that Liverpool may also play a part in, is the chase for fourth. After their win over Chelsea earlier today, Liverpool sit six points behind Spurs and Chelsea, albeit having played a game more. And with a home match against against the North London side coming up later on, Kenny Dalglish and co. will be fancying their chances of a shock charge for the final Champions League spot. Certainly, if Liverpool continue to play the way they played at Stamford Bridge then maybe a place in next year's Champions League qualifying rounds isn't such a far fetched idea after all.

Can Liverpool claim fourth spot?

How will the Reds' matches against this year's title contenders play out?
